Preparing for the Summer (Part 3)

Preparing for the Summer (Part 3)

Introduction

We are reminded that our lives are meant to carry purpose, not just for ourselves but for others. As we follow the example of Jesus, we choose to meet people where they are and be a light in everyday situations. We recognise that when we become overly focused on ourselves, it can lead to heaviness, but as we pour into others, we find joy and fulfilment. As it is written, “look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others” Philippians 2:4, we commit to living outwardly and intentionally.

We shift our hearts towards serving, encouraging, and uplifting those around us. In doing so, we align with God’s purpose and allow Him to use us as vessels of impact. This mindset not only strengthens our faith but also brings clarity and direction to our daily lives.

Preparing with Discipline and Seizing Opportunities

We take wisdom from the ant, which “provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest” Proverbs 6:8. We choose to be disciplined, intentional, and proactive, making the most of every opportunity placed before us. Rather than drifting through the season, we prepare with focus, balancing enjoyment with responsibility and wise financial decisions.

We commit to working diligently and developing our gifts, trusting that our efforts will yield fruit in due time. As we stay consistent and faithful, we position ourselves for growth, stability, and increase in every area of life.

Building Strong Community and Connections

We understand that we are not meant to walk this journey alone. As we build strong relationships within our community, we encourage and support one another, remembering that “iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend” Proverbs 27:17. Through fellowship, we grow stronger and remain grounded in our faith.

We also recognise the value of connecting with others across different skills and professions. By working together and supporting one another, we create opportunities, strengthen our network, and build a community that reflects unity, strength, and purpose.

Walking in Divine Alignment and Growth

We commit to aligning ourselves with God, trusting Him to lead us into the right opportunities and relationships. Like Nehemiah, we believe that favour comes from God, for “the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me” Nehemiah 2:8. As we stay connected to Him, we trust that divine helpers and connections will come our way.

We prioritise time in God’s presence, knowing it is there we receive guidance, wisdom, and inspiration. As we develop our gifts, engage in fellowship, and pursue new ideas, we move forward with confidence, trusting that God will prosper the work of our hands and lead us into a fruitful and purposeful season.

Reaching Others with Purpose

We are reminded that our calling is not confined to comfortable spaces but extends into everyday environments where people gather. As we reflect on how Jesus moved among the people, we recognise that we too are called to reach out, uplift, and bring hope wherever we go. As it is written, “the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost” Luke 19:10, we embrace a lifestyle of compassion and intentional impact.

We also understand that when we become overly focused on ourselves, it can lead to discouragement. Instead, we choose to serve and support others, knowing that in lifting others, we ourselves are strengthened and renewed.

Learning Discipline from the Ant

We take wisdom from the ant, which “having no guide, overseer, or ruler, provideth her meat in the summer” Proverbs 6:7-8. We choose to live with discipline and foresight, preparing in seasons of opportunity so that we are not lacking in times of need. This calls us to be proactive, intentional, and consistent in our efforts.

We refuse to be complacent, understanding that preparation today shapes our tomorrow. With diligence and focus, we position ourselves for growth, stability, and fruitfulness in every area of our lives.

Becoming Producers, Not Just Consumers

We are challenged to move beyond simply consuming and instead become creators and contributors. As we use what God has placed within us, we fulfil the call to be fruitful and impactful. The Word reminds us that “we are labourers together with God” 1 Corinthians 3:9, and we embrace our role in building and creating value.

We choose to maximise our gifts and talents, understanding that they are given for a purpose. As we develop and use them, we open doors for opportunities, growth, and blessings that extend beyond ourselves.

Preparing Intentionally for the Season Ahead

We commit to preparing wisely, resisting distractions and trends that pull us away from purpose. Instead, we stay focused, disciplined, and intentional, making the most of every opportunity. As we are reminded, “redeeming the time, because the days are evil” Ephesians 5:16, we choose to use our time with purpose and clarity.

We balance enjoyment with responsibility, ensuring that while we embrace the season, we are also building for the future. Through careful planning and consistent effort, we position ourselves for lasting success.

Dwelling in God’s Presence for Guidance

We understand that true direction comes from spending time in God’s presence. As we seek Him, we receive wisdom, ideas, and clarity for our lives and endeavours. We echo the desire to “behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple” Psalm 27:4, knowing that His presence brings insight and peace.

In His presence, we also find protection and favour, trusting that He will guide us through every challenge. This connection becomes our foundation, shaping our decisions and leading us into purpose.

Praying for Alignment, Connections, and Helpers

We recognise the importance of being aligned with God’s will, trusting Him to lead us to the right people and opportunities. As we pray for divine alignment, we position ourselves to walk in His purpose. We also seek divine connections, knowing that God uses people to open doors and guide us forward.

We believe in divine helpers, those placed in our lives to support and strengthen our journey. As it is written, “two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour” Ecclesiastes 4:9, we embrace the power of partnership and support.

Learning from Nehemiah’s Favour

We look to the example of Nehemiah, who found favour and provision through divine alignment. As it is written, “the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me” Nehemiah 2:8, we are reminded that God’s hand upon our lives brings access and opportunity.

We trust that as we remain faithful and aligned with God, He will open doors and provide everything we need to fulfil our purpose, just as He did for Nehemiah.

Building Strong Community in Every Season

We understand the importance of building a strong and supportive community, especially during seasons filled with distractions. Through fellowship and shared activities, we strengthen one another and create an environment where faith can flourish. As it is written, “not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together” Hebrews 10:25, we remain committed to gathering and growing together.

We choose to create spaces that are uplifting, engaging, and centred on God, ensuring that we and others remain grounded and encouraged throughout every season.

Maximising Our Gifts and Talents

We acknowledge that each of us has been given unique gifts and talents, and we are called to use them fully. As it is written, “a man’s gift maketh room for him” Proverbs 18:16, we step forward with confidence, using what we have to create impact and opportunity.

We refuse to let our gifts lie dormant. Instead, we develop and apply them, trusting that as we do, God will elevate us and open doors that lead to growth, fulfilment, and lasting blessings.
