Preparing for the Summer (Part 1)

Introduction
As we approach new seasons, we recognise the need to prepare ourselves with wisdom, humility, and discipline. We are reminded to look at the ant, which “provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest” Proverbs 6:8. In the same way, we choose to be intentional with our time, our growth, and our walk with God. We do not wait to be pushed, but we take responsibility, building habits that strengthen our faith and keep us focused on what truly matters.
We also guard our hearts against distractions and the pressure to follow worldly patterns. Instead, we align ourselves with God’s priorities, knowing that when we “seek… first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; all these things shall be added” Matthew 6:33. This season calls us to maturity, where we live with purpose, remain consistent, and trust that our preparation today will position us for what God has ahead.
We understand that our confidence is not in money or human systems, but in God, who responds to faith. Even in moments of struggle, we hold on to His Word, believing that He strengthens us, just as Jesus prayed, “that thy faith fail not” Luke 22:32. We encourage one another to keep going, to stand firm in faith, and to trust that God is working behind the scenes, even when we cannot yet see the results.
As we walk forward, we choose the narrow path that leads to life, remembering that “narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life” Matthew 7:14. We remain committed, trusting God to guide us, provide for us, and sustain us. With faith and perseverance, we believe we will overcome every challenge and step into a season of abundance, purpose, and fulfilment.
Preparing with Purpose and Vision
We embrace the call to prepare for what lies ahead, understanding that every season requires intention and focus. As we reflect on the wisdom of the ant, which “provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest” Proverbs 6:8, we learn to take responsibility for our growth. We do not wait to be directed, but we rise with discipline, knowing that preparation today shapes our tomorrow. This season invites us to be proactive, to plan wisely, and to remain committed to the vision God has placed in our hearts.
We also recognise that preparation demands consistency and sacrifice. We choose not to drift with the culture or follow every trend, but to stay grounded in God’s purpose for our lives. As we remain focused, we build strength, maturity, and clarity, ensuring that we are ready for the opportunities and challenges ahead.
Choosing Discipline Over Distraction
We understand that self-discipline and commitment are essential if we are to stay aligned with God’s will. Rather than being pulled in different directions, we choose to anchor ourselves in His Word, remembering that “seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” Matthew 6:33. This becomes our foundation, guiding our decisions and helping us to prioritise what truly matters.
Even when distractions increase, especially in relaxed seasons, we remain intentional. We choose to stay faithful, guarding our time and energy so that we do not lose momentum. In doing so, we position ourselves to walk in purpose, stability, and spiritual growth.
Living by Faith and Trusting God’s Provision
We come to understand that our provision does not depend solely on what we see, but on the faith we carry. Faith becomes our true currency, as we are reminded that “the just shall live by faith” Romans 1:17. Even when resources seem limited, we trust that God is able to supply our needs in ways beyond our understanding. We choose to rely on Him fully, knowing that He is our source.
With this confidence, we walk boldly, refusing to be ruled by fear or lack. We believe that as we trust God, doors will open and opportunities will arise. Our faith allows us to see beyond the natural and step into supernatural provision.
Remaining Faithful in Community and Obedience
We are reminded of the importance of staying connected and committed, especially within our faith community. We do not withdraw or become inconsistent, but continue to gather, grow, and support one another. As it is written, “not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together” Hebrews 10:25, we recognise that community strengthens and sustains us.
We also choose obedience in every area of our lives, knowing that “to obey is better than sacrifice” 1 Samuel 15:22. Our obedience reflects our trust in God and keeps us aligned with His will, positioning us for His blessings and direction.
Strengthening Faith Through Prayer and Encouragement
We acknowledge that there are moments when our faith may feel weak, but we do not remain there. Instead, we turn to prayer, lifting one another up just as Jesus prayed “that thy faith fail not” Luke 22:32. In doing so, we create an atmosphere where faith is restored and strengthened.
Together, we encourage one another to keep believing, to keep trusting, and to keep moving forward. We hold on to the assurance that God is with us in every challenge, and that through Him, our faith will not only survive but grow stronger, leading us into victory and fulfilment.
